See what's happening today at The Bauhaus!

The Bauhaus in downtown Wausau is currently an Oil Painting Workshop for beginners through advanced painters, focusing on color and mark-making. Although the studio is three years old, there's over 30 years of experience behind it, with many local references that can share there experience of learning and growing at The Bauhaus with it's instructors.

"Over the course of the past year, I have been privileged enough to take painting workshops at The Bauhaus Studio under the instruction of David Anthony Hummer. Our school district encourages professional development in our area of instruction and these classes have exceeded my expectations. David's instruction has greatly expanded my understanding on how to 'construct' a painting.  I have grown as an Art specialist in the areas of correctly seeing color, learning how to mix a specific hue and then experimenting with its application in a variety of layers.
We are so very fortunate to have David in our community as an artist, but also as a teacher. When viewing his artwork, his giftedness is evident. His mastery of color and depth of knowledge as a painter speaks volumes. To have an artist of his caliber with a willingness to teach is proving to be a great blessing to many.
Although I have painted alongside both primary and secondary art instructors in these workshops, The Bauhaus is made up of a real community of people. I am blown away by the artwork produced by fellow classmates from a variety of vocations who for these hours come together and are not afraid to learn the art of painting. For students to find success they need an instructor who can encourage them at whatever level they are at and bring them to the next level.  David teaches his students to believe that they "can." We are thankful that through his instruction, with time and perseverance that, "we really can!""

Thanks David!
